Spray Foam Insulation


Energy saving measures can come from many different areas. BES drives down energy consumption by sealing gaps in the exterior of the building that are allowing uncontrolled flow of air through cracks, holes and gaps in the exterior of the building.

Implementation of building envelope measures assist with over all building performance including energy savings and carbon reduction. Building envelope measures also provide benefits in the health and safety of the people utilizing the facility.

Designed for small gaps and crevices, one-component spray foam is dispensed to areas typically visible to the building’s inhabitants. In most cases, one-component foam is used for pipe penetrations and cracks in high-exterior walls for locations such as gymnasiums, boiler rooms, and cafeterias. Application of the product will assist energy performance by reducing airflow from the exterior environment, controlling condensation, sound dampening, and obstructing pests from entering the building. The insulation is applied from the inside of the building using portable foam-spraying systems that allow our technicians to access difficult locations while maintaining the integrity of the building’s contents and occupants.

One-component spray foam is dispensed as a caulking bead with an approximate 200% expansion rate. This industrial foam sealant is a moisture cured product using humidity to dry and UL Classified File #R13919 Caulking & Sealant. In areas with wider gaps in the building’s envelope such as roof level changes and roof/wall joints, two-component foam may be used in conjunction with one-component to ensure a seal to the exterior environment.

Low-pressure spray foam insulation is used to increase the building's energy performance by sealing larger gaps in the construction of the structure. Application of the product will assist energy performance by reducing airflow from the exterior environment, controlling condensation, sound dampening, and obstructing pests from entering the building. The insulation is applied from the inside of the building using portable foam-spraying systems that allow our technicians to access difficult locations while maintaining the integrity of the building’s contents and occupants.

Two-component insulation is made up of polyurethane spray foam that expands larger than our one-component foam in order to provide better coverage of the closed cell barrier. While one-component foam is used for smaller and/or more visible gaps to the building’s occupants, two-component foam is typically used for larger gaps to the building envelope such as roof/wall joint connections, roof-level changes, unsealed pipe penetrations, and unused vents and holes in the building’s construction.
